They discovered the Czech people to be well mannered, articulate, thoughtful people. The Czech Republic is a beautiful land filled with a rich cultural and architectural heritage. Unfortunately, the Czech Republic has become the most secular country in Europe, with a full 60% of adults identifying themselves as atheists. While an outwardly peaceful and beautiful country, the Czech people are dead spiritually, and missing hope.

The Southern portion of the Czech, Southern Bohemia, is especially devoid of a Bible witness, because it has only a handful of churches. Some portions of Southern Bohemia have never had a Bible preaching church, and many young people are ignorant of the Gospel, and even who Jesus Christ is.
Though most have turned away from the large cathedrals, small evangelical congregations are receiving visitors hungry for a life changing relationship. A small Baptist church in Southern Bohemia is committed to offering that relationship to as many as possible in Southern Bohemia. At present it is the only Baptist church in Southern Bohemia. It’s located in the town of České Budějovice and is a member of the Baptist Union of the Czech Republic. The Baptist Union leadership have asked ABWE to partner with them to help the church in České Budějovice grow, and to start many new churches throughout Southern Bohemia.
ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) have invited Adam and Marge Parmenter to make České Budějovice their home base. Their work will be to help the church their grow and to provide logistical support to the team as it grows.
The Parmenters need to raise both prayer and financial support before they can leave for the Czech. Once there, they will have an extended period of language learning. You can help Marge and Adam by offering to be part of their prayer team or by providing ongoing
financial support.
